Where I am getting confused on Veracrypt is after I select the drive it gives two options saying, I guess from what I read the best way to do it for SSD's is to do a full erase, full disk encryption, then full erase again. run charges on me so I will not risk it anymore. As I said, I have been a victim of identity theft and having my banking information, credit cards etc. "Yeah, it was all very confusing when I have been reading how to securely delete a drive to sell or whatever. I posted this on another thread under r/encryption but I just saw this group (I am new to Reddit) and thought I would copy paste my problem here. I am new to all of this all of the online google instructions and videos show different information than what it shows on my screen (I am using Ubuntu). I am trying to encrypt the entire external SSD drive (1TB) after having done a secure erase.
